High School Visits
The Recruitment Department works with schools in Roanoke City and the following counties: Roanoke, Salem, Botetourt, Franklin, and Craig. Our services are also available to home school and private school students. Our focus is onboarding high school seniors, orienting new students, and campus tours. Application Day is an excellent opportunity for any high school student to start the enrollment process. We also assist families with the CCAP application process. Take a look at our calendar to see when we will be visiting your school!
Community Events
Community outreach efforts are facilitated by our College Affordability Navigator and Community Engagement Specialist. This team’s primary focus is engaging and supporting adult learners, building relationships with local residents, community partners and service providers in under-represented populations. This team works throughout the community and provides regular services at the Roanoke EnVision Center.
VWCC representatives will be at the Roanoke EnVision Center during the following hours:
Mondays: 9 AM – 5 PM
Tuesdays: 9 AM – 12 PM
Wednesdays: 9 AM – 5 PM
Thursdays: 1 – 5 PM
Student Ambassador Team
Student Ambassadors give campus tours, staff community & college events, and assist with new student events and orientation sessions. Ambassadors receive a scholarship for serving fall and spring semesters and are paid hourly for working at summer welcome events. In addition to the scholarship, ambassadors develop leadership skills, build their resume, and get the chance to meet other student leaders, faculty, and staff. A new team is hired each year. The application process opens and closes in April annually.
